The question being asked at this time is what is going to be the future of the twenty-one card counters. are the days of counting cards over? Many would say yes.

Automated shuffling is being used in todays tables which makes shuffle tracking or counting cards unlikely. The brick and mortar casinos are going to place shuffle machines at the tables.

It is believed that in places like vegas, video cameras are being employed to look at the skill of the gamblers and intelligent black jack tables that tracks gamblers hands and tactics utilizing magnetic chips.

The Control Board in Nevada, an agency that protects fair gambling decided that casinos may not adjust the games in a manner that would alter the frequency of the payouts. Since then, many Nevada betting houses train their croupiers to count cards and shuffle whenever they want, and also a wide variety of betting houses retain information of card count, including names and pictures to keep them from playing the game.

So what will be the future of this chemin de fer "war"? is it just starting or will it soon reach an end? Despite all their latest technology, political and monetary affects, I believe there is still a hope for a happy ending. With more than twenty-five states within the US offering chemin de fer games, there are more profit prospects for card counting than back in the olden days.
