Chemin de Fer Basics – Part 1

[ English ]

The general premise of the card game is to be given cards totaling up to twenty one. Each player is assigned 2 cards. When a gambler is given a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace cards it is called as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt every player at the blackjack table, including the dealer, every gambler is given the chance to make 1 of 6 actions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a gambler says "hit me" the croupier will give them another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than twenty-one the gambler will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the black jack player is the winner and if the total hasn’t yet achieved twenty-one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a black jack player is happy with the hand they will stay. Once this has happened the croupier will display their hand and the blackjack player who has accumulated 21 or the closet to twenty one will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A black jack player might request to double down which increases the wager by one hundred percent they have made. As soon as you’ve taken this procedure you can only receive 1 additional card. The specifics of doubling down are usually out lined by the table or casino rules so prior to betting make sure you are comfortable with the house rules. If you’re betting at an on-line betting house this is normally quite easy.
